Browser Storage & Technical Policy

Cookies & Cache Policy

Learn how Moniola Laurels uses browser cookies, local application cache, and web storage to deliver high-speed, secure, and data-efficient portal experiences for parents and educators.

Technical Specification · Updated October 2026

1. What Are Cookies and Local Cache?

Cookies and local browser caches are small data files saved directly on your computer or mobile smartphone when you browse the Moniola Laurels portal. They allow our platform to remember your sign-in status, preserve view preferences, and load pages rapidly even in low-bandwidth network environments.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

Strictly Essential Cookies

Required for you to log in to the Parent Portal, Teacher Workspace, or Admin Suite securely. Without these, authentication sessions cannot function.

Preference & Security Tokens

Remember your selected filters (such as class views or report card terms) and protect against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF).

3. Browser Caching & Data Efficiency

We understand that many families in Nigeria access our portals on mobile data networks. To save your cellular data and provide lightning-fast page transitions:

  • Static Assets: School crests, CSS styles, and typography fonts are cached in your browser so you do not re-download them on every page visit.
  • Result Cards & Broadsheets: When generating PDF report cards or receipt prints, static layouts are temporarily cached to allow printing without re-querying the network.
  • Offline Timetable Access: Lesson periods and weekly timetables are structured to remain accessible on your device during intermittent connection dips.

4. How to Clear Stale Browser Cache

If an administrator or teacher recently updated a timetable period, continuous assessment score, or announcement and your browser still displays the previous version, clearing your browser cache ensures you see the latest live data immediately:

Hard Refresh on Computer (Windows / Mac): Press Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows or Cmd + Shift + R on Mac to force reload the newest server content.
On Mobile Chrome (Android & iPhone): Open browser Menu (⋮ or ⋯) → Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear Browsing Data → Select "Cached images and files" → Tap "Clear Data".
On Mobile Safari (iPhone / iPad): Open Device Settings → Safari → Scroll down and tap "Clear History and Website Data".

5. No Third-Party Tracking Advertisements

Moniola Laurels is an academic institution, not a commercial advertising platform. We do not install third-party tracking pixels, behavioural cross-site ad networks, or data-broker cookies on our portal.
